we benefited by getting a suitable place to stay In some places they are already done with the sewers and we can actually see a bright future ahead. the other thing that is hindering development in this place is that some people are legging behind, with their payments, hence affecting development. There are about six thousands stands that are currently occupied by people, who might have been renting houses for accommodation, but they are staying here, saving their money so as to build their own houses the money we might have used to pay rentals, is the one we are now using to construct our own houses when we started these co-operatives in 2002, we used to encounter a lot of problems but now we can actually see a bright future ahead of us some of the advantages associated with housing co-operatives are that, we skipped the Harare City Council waiting list, we can also talk of the freedom to do anything on your stand , since there wont be anyone telling what to do and what not to do and development is faster when you are doing it as group, giving each other ideas.
