Message from the Alpha Walk Organizer for Sponsors

September 6th, 2022
To Whom It May Concern:
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Xi Lambda Chapter, in partnership with Xi Lambda Chapter of A Phi A, Inc. (XLCAPA), a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, will be hosting its 13th Annual Alpha Walk on Saturday, September 24, 2022. For the past twelve years, we have been walking for causes that affect our community. Last year we walked for JEM’s Baseball Inc. and raised over $1,500 to support their efforts by increasing the amount of Chicago’s youth prepared to play college-level baseball by providing teens with a safe environment to learn practice and service coaching. The prior year we walked for Guitars Over Guns and raised over $1,000 to support their efforts in reducing gun violence within Chicago’s South Side neighborhoods by providing teens with a safe haven to learn and practice the fine arts. We are looking to improve our efforts this year by raising the bar on the amount of funds raised for this year’s organization. We are asking for your help!
This year we are walking for Vega Family Foundation (www.vegaff.org). This foundation has shown to be an ideal organization for our “ALPHA WALK”. The Vega Family Foundation was started for the purpose of teaching youth and communities to advocate for the following: education, housing, post-secondary education and scholarships, health and wellness, and entrepreneurship. The foundation also partners with various organizations to help facilitate dialog and action for youth and communities to design, develop, and implement programs they have designed. We are requesting your support. Please consider being a sponsor by making a $250 donation to XLCAPA by clicking on the button below:
The Walk Committee’s purpose is to fulfill XLCAPA’s aim to provide “programs to enrich the lives, encourage growth, and promote the empowerment of the citizens in [its] service areas.” The Alpha Walk’s specific mission is to promote fellowship, fundraising for a worthy cause, and community building through physical fitness, exercise, and health education.”
All donations collected from walkers will go directly to the Vega Family Foundation. Your sponsorship will help defray the walk expenses, such as the cost of walk participants’ tee-shirts, refreshments, and supplies. Sponsors will be recognized by name on the Alpha Walk T-shirts and given a display space before, during, and after the walk. If you are interested in sponsoring this year’s Alpha Walk in support of The Vega Family Foundation, please see the attachment for more details on Sponsorship.
